What is the Pacific Northwest Division of the IAI?
The Pacific Northwest Division of the
International Association for Identification was chartered on December 31,
1964. We are comprised of 157 members from the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana,
Oregon, Washington, and the Canadian Provices of Alberta and
British Columbia. The Division is a non-profit professional association for forensic scientists,
crime scene technicians, evidence technicians, latent
print examiners and all other law enforcement employees who are interested in the
scientific investigation of crimes.
Our Mission
Our mission is to organize people in the profession of forensic identification, investigation, and scientific examination
of physical evidence, through education, training, and research so the profession can be standardized and effectively
and scientifically practiced. To encourage research in scientific crime detection by employing
the collective of the profession to advance the scientific techniques of forensic
identification and crime detection.
Outstanding Achievement Award
The Board of Directors has established an Outstanding
Achievement Award to present to an active member, as defined in the
Constitution of this Association. The Board of Directors will give
the award to a nominee who, in the Boards opinion and judgment, has
made a significant and valuable contribution in the area of Forensic
Science and has provided outstanding service to the Pacific Northwest
Division of the International Association for Identification. For consideration,
I hereby nominate (Nominee must be a current, two-year member of the PNWD-IAI.
